Who we are
sgdivorcelawyer.sg is an independent information site about divorce and family law in Singapore. We are not a law firm. We do not provide legal services, we cannot represent you, and nothing on this site is legal advice. Only a law practice licensed in Singapore can advise you on your own situation.
Our partner law practices
We work with licensed Singapore law practices. If you ask us to, we can put you in touch with one of them. We may receive a referral fee or other compensation from a partner practice when we do.
Two things follow from that, and we want to be direct about both:
- A referral is not an endorsement of outcome. We can tell you a practice is licensed and works in family law. We cannot promise you a result, and no lawyer honestly can.
- Our partners are not the only option. You are free to instruct any lawyer you like. If cost is the obstacle, start with our guide to legal aid for divorce rather than with us.
How this affects what we publish
It doesn’t. Our guides are researched against primary sources (the Women’s Charter, published court decisions, and official guidance from the Family Justice Courts and government agencies) and every article lists what it relied on. No partner practice pays for coverage, chooses our topics, approves our articles before publication, or has a veto over what we say.
Where the honest answer is “you may not need a lawyer for this”, we say so. Several of our guides explain how to do things yourself, and that is deliberate.
What we will not do
- Present ourselves as a law firm, or imply that we can act for you.
- Claim an article was written or reviewed by a lawyer unless a named, licensed practitioner genuinely did so.
- Publish invented statistics, case outcomes, or fee figures.
- Pass your details to anyone without you asking us to.
